My Story
I grew up on a family farm in western North Dakota, where I developed a strong work ethic through farm chores, excelled in academics, and actively participated in sports. Pursuing my passion for mathematics and computer science, I earned degrees in these fields, eventually leading me to a fulfilling career in software development. During my college years, I met Della, the love of my life, and right after graduation, we moved to Texas for my first "professional" job.

Despite my academic achievements, I realized I lacked the practical life skills to manage a career, home, and family. There were many hard days as we learned lessons from our mistakes. This awareness inspired Della and me to prioritize teaching our six children essential life skills alongside their formal education. Della's dedication to homeschooling from pre-kindergarten through high school ensured our children excelled academically while actively participating in sports, martial arts, and scouting.

As our children matured and their extracurricular activities lessened, we had some extra time. This transition allowed Della and I to focus on a new endeavor: creating the Adulting Academy within our church community. I led the development and delivery of comprehensive materials designed to equip young adults with essential life skills. The success of the program and the positive transformations we observed in participants motivated me to expand our efforts by writing a series of books and launching an interactive website. These resources provide detailed guidance on various topics and foster a supportive environment for young adults navigating the transition to independence.

Our commitment to empowering young individuals to embrace adulthood confidently and competently remains unwavering.
Our family continues to grow, with four of our six children now married, blessing us with a growing number of grandchildren.

This is Della and me, back at the beginning: young, in love, and somewhat clueless about life.

This is us now: old, in love, and with a few dozen years of learning life's lessons under our belts.
